Get to know Dr. Gerry Curatola
Dr. Gerry Curatola is a distinguished biologic restorative dentist with an impressive career spanning over four decades in clinical practice.
His educational journey began with a focus on neuroscience at Colgate University, and he subsequently pursued his dental education at the New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry. Dr. Curatola’s commitment to dental education is underscored by his role as an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Cariology and Comprehensive Care at NYU.
Notably, Dr. Curatola is a pioneer in the field of biologic Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry, having introduced this approach in the mid-1980s. His expertise has extended to consulting in the research and development of numerous biocompatible restorative materials that are widely used in modern dentistry today.
Dr. Gerry Curatola, the visionary behind Rejuvenation Health, established this multi-specialty integrative dental team in New York City in 2006. His foundational principles are rooted in the realm of bioregulatory healthcare. Dr. Curatola’s commitment to advancing integrative health is further evidenced by his involvement in various prestigious organizations. He serves on the Fellowship Committee for the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM), is part of the Advisory Board of the Bioregulatory Medicine Institute (BRMI), and is a valued member of esteemed associations like the International Academy of Biologic Dentistry & Medicine (IABDM), the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), and the American Dental Association (ADA).
Moreover, Dr. Curatola has displayed his dedication to dental research by establishing the Curatola Wing for Clinical Research at New York University in 2006. This facility is dedicated to advancing translational research. Dr. Curatola also boasts over 20 years of experience in oral microbiome research, underlining his commitment to pioneering advancements in dental science and health.
Dr. Curatola’s influence in the field of dentistry extends to an international audience. He has delivered lectures to over 10,000 dentists worldwide, sharing his expertise on various topics including adhesive dentistry, the application of porcelain veneers, advanced composite technologies, and all-ceramic restorations. His impact has reached more than 12 countries, including significant engagements in China and India.
Dr. Curatola has also been at the forefront of introducing cutting-edge dental technology, such as CAD/CAM dentistry (3-D printing). He had the privilege of studying under Dr. Werner Mormann, the inventor of CEREC technology, at the University of Zurich in Switzerland. His early adoption of CEREC technology in 1993 made him one of the first CEREC 1 users in clinical practice in the United States, showcasing his commitment to staying at the forefront of dental innovations.
Dr. Curatola’s outstanding reputation in the field of dentistry is grounded in his demonstrated leadership and commitment to advancing dental care. His dedication to holistic healthcare is evident in his attendance at Harvard Medical School’s program in Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) from 1996 to 1997. It was during this time that he embarked on research related to nutritional formulations in oral care products.
Dr. Curatola’s innovative work in this area resulted in three United States Patents for his formulations. Notably, he is also the co-inventor of a groundbreaking “prebiotic” oral care formulation known as Revitin (revitin.com). This pioneering product is based on cutting-edge oral microbiome science, underlining Dr. Curatola’s commitment to advancing oral health through innovative and scientifically sound approaches.
